Overview
We are seeking a Sensor Integration Intern to join our team at Flomad, where you will play a vital role in integrating and calibrating advanced sensors into our humanoid robot. As a Sensor Integration Intern, you will work with a variety of sensors, including LIDAR, cameras, IMUs, and tactile sensors, developing integration and calibration techniques to enhance the robot’s performance. You will collaborate closely with hardware, software, and robotics teams to ensure seamless communication between sensor systems and control algorithms.
Additionally, you will engage in continuous research and evaluation of emerging AI tools to enhance productivity, staying abreast of the latest technological advancements. This proactive approach ensures our team remains at the forefront of innovation, integrating cutting-edge solutions into our workflows. This internship is ideal for individuals passionate about sensor technologies, robotics, and real-world system integration.
Key Responsibilities
- Work with a range of sensors, including LIDAR, cameras, IMUs, tactile sensors, and environmental monitors.
- Develop and implement sensor integration solutions, including calibration techniques for optimal accuracy and performance.
- Collaborate with software and hardware engineering teams to ensure seamless sensor-to-system communication.
- Conduct sensor testing and performance analysis, identifying and resolving integration challenges.
- Research sensor fusion algorithms, improving robot perception and environmental awareness.
- Document integration procedures, calibration processes, and contribute to technical reports and project documentation.
- Participate in team meetings, brainstorming sessions, and workshops, contributing innovative ideas and problem-solving approaches.
Qualifications and Skills
- Familiarity with sensor technologies (e.g., LIDAR, depth cameras, tactile sensors) and hardware interfaces.
- Experience with embedded systems and microcontroller programming (ARM Cortex, ESP32, or STM32) is a plus.
- Experience in Python, C++, or ROS for sensor integration and data processing.
- Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment, collaborating with cross-functional engineering teams.
- Interest in AI-driven sensor technologies, sensor fusion, and robotic perception systems.
