Overview
We are seeking a Mechatronics Engineering Intern to join our team at Flomad, where you’ll play a critical role in integrating mechanical, electronic, and computing systems to enhance the functionality of our advanced humanoid robot. This position offers a unique opportunity to work on robotic hardware design, system integration, and real-time control, bringing together mechanical structures, embedded systems, and intelligent automation.
As a Mechatronics Engineering Intern, you will design, prototype, and test mechatronic systems, ensuring seamless interaction between hardware and software components. You will collaborate closely with robotics, electronics, and control systems teams, developing precision-driven solutions for robot movement, sensory feedback, and autonomous operation.
Additionally, you will engage in continuous research and evaluation of emerging AI tools to enhance productivity, staying abreast of the latest technological advancements. This proactive approach ensures our team remains at the forefront of innovation, integrating cutting-edge solutions into our workflows. Key Responsibilities
- Design and prototype integrated mechatronic systems, including circuitry and robotics components.
- Develop, test, and troubleshoot robotic subsystems, analyzing performance and identifying improvements.
- Collaborate with robotics, electronics, and control systems engineers to ensure cohesive system development.
- Work on motion control, actuator programming, and real-time sensor feedback systems.
- Integrate embedded systems with microcontrollers, ensuring smooth communication between components.
- Document design processes, testing results, and system improvements, contributing to technical reports and project documentation.
- Participate in team meetings, brainstorming sessions, and workshops, contributing innovative ideas and problem-solving approaches.
Qualifications and Skills
- Familiarity with mechanical and electronic systems and their integration.
- Experience with CAD tools for mechanical design (SolidWorks, Fusion 360, or similar) is beneficial.
- Familiarity with microcontrollers (Arduino, STM32, or ESP32) and embedded programming (C/C++, Python).
- Knowledge of sensors, actuators, motor drivers, and real-time control systems.
- Problem-solving abilities and a detail-oriented approach to system optimization.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment, collaborating with cross-disciplinary engineers.
- Interest in AI-driven automation and smart robotics technologies.
