We are seeking an Ethical and Legal Research Intern to join our team at Flomad, where you’ll navigate the complex ethical and legal landscape of robotics and AI, ensuring that our projects adhere to the highest standards of ethical practice and regulatory compliance. This role offers a unique opportunity to contribute to ethical frameworks, policy development, and risk assessments for emerging AI-driven technologies.

As an Ethical and Legal Research Intern, you will conduct in-depth research on AI and robotics regulations, assist in developing compliance guidelines, and collaborate with engineers and designers to ensure that ethical considerations are embedded into product development workflows. You’ll also contribute to policy analysis and documentation, ensuring that our innovations align with global standards and best practices.

Additionally, you will engage in continuous research and evaluation of emerging AI tools to enhance productivity, staying abreast of the latest technological advancements. This proactive approach ensures our team remains at the forefront of innovation, integrating cutting-edge solutions into our workflows. Key Responsibilities

  • Research and analyze ethical and legal issues related to AI, robotics, and autonomous systems, including privacy, bias, accountability, and intellectual property.
  • Assist in developing compliance guidelines and ethical frameworks, ensuring that products align with industry standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Collaborate with engineers and designers to integrate ethical considerations into product design, development, and deployment.
  • Contribute to policy analysis, including AI governance, data privacy laws, and ethical risk assessments.
  • Monitor regulatory developments, staying informed about AI legislation, robotics standards, and emerging ethical debates.
  • Support the creation of documentation, reports, and white papers on ethics, compliance, and responsible AI practices.
  • Participate in team meetings, brainstorming sessions, and workshops, contributing innovative ideas and problem-solving approaches.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Strong research, analytical, and writing skills, with the ability to synthesize complex legal and ethical issues.
  • Familiarity with AI governance, technology law, and ethical frameworks is a plus.
  • Problem-solving abilities and a detail-oriented approach to legal and policy challenges.
